An elderly woman faces several misdemeanor charges for causing the accident that killed a little girl and injured two others. The 78-year-old could face several years behind bars for accidentally taking the life of a 6-year-old girl.
The police report for the pedestrian accident shows that the elderly woman failed to yield to crosswalk in October. She struck and killed the little girl while injuring two more young children. As a result of her negligence, the woman was charged with one count of passing a vehicle while stopped for a pedestrian, failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk and failing to give full attention to driving.
