Drive Home Results in Serious Car Accident
A regular drive home turned into a nightmare for one woman who lost control of her vehicle on FM 1101.
A Guadalupe County Sheriff's officer was dispatched to the scene of a car accident last week that was so severe, the victim had to be literally cut out of her vehicle. The 62-year-old woman told officers that she was heading east when she crossed over the center line, tried maneuver back into her own lane, but instead caused the vehicle to run off the roadway and into a tree.
According to one officer, the woman was trapped in her vehicle due to external damage from the collision. Police had to cut through the car's roof and passenger side doors to remove the woman.
Once she was removed from the vehicle, she was transported by helicopter to University Medical Center. While the officer interview by news sources was unsure of the woman's condition at that time, he said that medical crews got her to the hospital rather quickly.
