Officers finally caught up with the man though to be responsible for not only causing a car accident, but fleeing the scene as well.

According to the police department, a man was driving his SUV around 1 AM when he crashed into another vehicle. Based on eyewitness testimony, police first located the abandoned vehicle and then its owner. Police found several opened bottles of alcohol in the vehicle, prompting them to charge him with driving under the influence.

One eyewitness told police that two men fled from the scene, implying that there was at least one passenger in the car. It is uncertain whether police have obtained that person or have information on him/her.

In addition to DUI charges, the driver also faces charges of failure to maintain lane, open container violation, driving without a license and hit and run.

The victim of the hit-and-run accident was a pregnant woman who was transported to a nearby hospital. She is reported to be in stable condition.
