While two teenage girls are lucky to not have been seriously injured in a pedestrian accident, their message is a strong one for drivers everywhere.

The two 17-year-old girls were walking to school last week when they were struck by a vehicle. Police are still investigating the accident which is not being blamed on speed, but rather the time of day. Since the driver was heading east, officers believe that the sun may have temporarily obscured the driver's vision.

Both girls were transported to an area hospital and were listed as being in stable condition following the crash. Doctors expect them to make a full recovery.
