Drunk Driver Gets 30 Years for Accident
Think you are fine to drive? If you have been drinking and smoking marijuana, the answer is no. One young man learned this lesson the hard way and will spend the next thirty years behind bars for his actions.
A jury listened to hours of testimony from the loved ones killed in a drunk driving accident that happened last year in San Antonio, Texas. Last April, a 19-year-old male got behind the wheel of his car and crashed into another vehicle, landing on top of it. As a result, four people died: a 22-year-old male, his 20-year-old girlfriend and a 23-year-old male. The young woman was three months pregnant at the time.
Police say that besides the driver, there was one survivor, the fiancée of the 23-year-old male.
After hearing the case, a judge sentenced the driver to 30 years in prison. He was also ordered to pay financial restitution for the burden he placed on the families affected by the drunk driving accident.
