A teenage boy crossing the street was struck by a pickup truck last week, causing injuries severe enough to require a medical helicopter.

Police reports show that the 14-year-old boy was crossing in front of his school when a truck heading north struck him. Apparently, the truck driver did not see the young boy crossing the street, so he managed to hit the teenager while traveling at full speed.

While the boy lost consciousness for a moment at the scene of the accident, he did regain consciousness before his flight on AirLife. He is currently being treated at a medical facility in San Antonio, Texas. Since the young boy is an athlete, doctors hope that his health will help him gain a speedy recovery.
