A major retailer is the subject of yet another slip and fall lawsuit, this time for a store in Morgan City.

According to the lawsuit filed this month in New Orleans, Louisiana, the victim was shopping at her local store on January 9, 2011, when she fell on a slippery substance. As a result of her fall, the woman sustained contusions, abrasions and a compression fracture.

The woman now claims that the store was negligent in providing a safe shopping environment for customers such as herself. In addition, she said the store did not warn patrons about the inherent danger of the slippery substance, failed to remove the substance in question and failed to teach employees about the importance of removing such a substance immediately.

Her legal team is now asking for $75,000 in compensation for anguish and distress, personal injuries, loss of enjoyment of life, medical expenses and disability. The slip and fall lawsuit also asks for the store to assume responsibility of all court costs.
