Man Panics and Leaves Scene of Accident
One man panicked after causing an auto accident that eventually killed his best friend. When police arrived on the scene they found the lifeless body of a man in the passenger seat of the vehicle.
Although there are no witnesses to the accident, police were able to determine what happened based on the wrecked vehicle. They determined that the operator of the vehicle was trying to drive too fast when he lost control of the vehicle. He crashed into a light pole with such force that he could not get his car to start again. When he realized that he could not drive away, he ran away instead, leaving his buddy behind.
The 29-year-old victim was found wedged between the front seats. He was declared dead on the scene. Based on license plates, police were able to track down the driver responsible for causing the car accident. He was charged with failure to stop and render aid. His bond has been set at $30,000.
