Woman Hit While Leaving Grocery Store
A woman leaving a grocery store last week in San Antonio, Texas never made it home. She was struck and killed by a small passenger car just a few feet from the store.
According to the police report, the woman was on her way to her car when the accident happened. She was pushing a grocery cart and out of nowhere the driver struck her with his small vehicle. Although EMTs rushed the woman to a nearby hospital, she died while in emergency surgery.
At this time, police have not charged the driver. Their initial investigation shows that she was not crossing in a pedestrian walkway or at an intersection. Due to her jaywalking and the fact that it was late at night, the driver did not have enough warning before he struck her. He is the one who called the police and stayed with the victim until they arrived on the scene of the pedestrian accident.
